5 Best Sofas from Least to Most Expensive

Are you in need of a new sofa? If so, I know that there are tons of options and finding the “right” one is a daunting task. For most, choosing a sofa comes down to cost, customization, comfort, and style. (The alliteration lover in me hates that style doesn’t start with the letter c.)

Today, I’m going to sift through five of my favorite sofas. Also, if reading isn’t your jammy jam, I have an entire Youtube video on this, which you can watch here:

Cost: $749 - $849

Style: The Kivik is a square arm sofa, which makes it fairly modern. Frankly, it works for every design style besides the (ultra) traditional. The style is also impacted by the cover that you choose. Remember that while you can buy covers from IKEA, there are also companies like BEMZ and Norse Interiors that sell custom IKEA sofa covers. They aren’t cheap, but it shifts the style significantly.

Customization: There are so many variations of the sofa that I can’t even count. There are also 5 slipcover options.

Comfort: I’d label this as “medium firm.” It’s nice to sit on and when it comes to lounging, it’s akin to a medium firm mattress.

Cons: You have to put it together! Honestly, the sofas are easy to put together, it’s the slipcover that will give you the fight of your life. Also, it’s fairly expensive for IKEA.

2. Rivet Revolve Sofa:

Cost : $853 - $1,450

Style: This is a fairly basic sofa, making it pretty stylistically versatile. Some of the colors like green and denim read more Mid-Century Modern.

Customization: There are 6 color options for the sofa. There are also loveseat, chair, and sectional versions of this sofa.

Comfort: It’s medium firm.

Cons: Since this is a strictly online retailer, you can’t try it before you buy it. You solely have to rely on the Amazon reviews (which are rather decent).

3. Radley Sofa:

This is the first sofa that I ever owned and I’ve never had a client be disappointed by the Radley.

Cost: $1,297+

Style: It’s basic. You definitely need to zhuzh it up with pillows and throws. The track arms are a plus!

Customization: There are 11 colors and countless items in the collection including pull out sofas, storage ottomans, sofas, and sectionals. The cushions come off, which makes for easy cleaning.

Comfort: This sofa is soooooo comfortable. I couldn’t praise it more. It’s plush, but sitting on it doesn’t leave a dent.

Cons: It pills somewhat easily. Macy’s delivery isn’t great.

4. Plush Sofa:

Okay, when it comes to this one, I’m definitely biased. I’ve purchased this sofa two separate times and like the brand so much that I’m now an ambassador for the company. I wanted to share that so that this doesn’t feel slimy. This isn’t a sponsored post though, you just need all of the info.

Cost: $1,700+

Style: This is a contemporary sofa. Think of the RH cloud sofa, but less expensive. It could also work for modern organic, art deco, and bohemian styles.

Customization: The options are limitless. There are many different fabric options including eco-performance textiles. The readily available colors are ivory and grey, but you could have a bright pink sofa if you wanted one. You can also choose between having yours down filled or foam filled.

Comfort: It feels like a cloud.

Cons: It’s extremely deep, so you need to have space for it! If you go with the down version, in requires fluffing if you want it to look perfect.

5. Big Sur Sofa:

Cost: $1,899+

Style: This works for every style. It leans modern, but it works in traditional space, too.

Customization: Pottery Barn allows you to choose between 3 different depths, 3 seat cushion options, and 2 back cushion options. Also, there are endless colors.

Comfort: Oh man, this one is so comfy. I sit on it every chance I get. Yep, I’m that creepy person sitting on the sofas in the front of Pottery Barn. I have no shame.

Cons: The delivery times.

Are you feeling better about choosing a sofa? These are 5 great options and truly, you can’t go wrong with any of them!
